The tldraw application lets you create, edit, and manage files. If you have used software like tldraw before, you may have seen these called “projects”, “boards”, or “documents”. In tldraw they are called files.

Some important things to know about files:

• Every file has an owner. If you create a file, you are its owner.
• A file’s owner can rename or delete the file.
• You can pin files to the top of your sidebar.
• You can rename, duplicate, and delete files.
• If you’ve visited someone else’s file, you will see their file in your sidebar, too.

Your files

Your files are displayed in the sidebar.

To open a file, click on it.

To open a file’s menu, hover the file and click on the three dots icon.

Create a new file

Click the New file button at the top of the sidebar.

Give your new file a name.
